Security
Donor Tools employs state-of-the-art security to keep your data safe. All transmissions are secured by 256-bit SSL encryption—the same security levels used and trusted by major banking institutions. Our system is scanned regularly to validate PCI DSS compliance.
Donor Tools is required to be PCI-compliant. Even though this security standard is meant to protect credit card and payment data, the side effect is that we have certain policies and procedures in place to protect all the data on our system. Our policies are very strict about who has access to the keys to our system, and all our keys are tightly controlled.
One other thing we like to tell folks who have questions about security is that storing data online is actually quite a bit safer than storing it on a local computer. This is because you can be assured of the security precautions that we mentioned above, but also because it eliminates the risk of data corruption or theft of your laptop or desktop computer. Imagine how hard it would be to recover your donors’ sensitive data from a stolen laptop! You won’t have that problem with our online fundraising software!
